Where is Bali in Indonesia?

Bali is a province in Indonesia. The island of Bali is one of the "more-than" 17,000 islands making up Indonesian Archipelago (so called Nusantara). It is located 8° south of the equator between Java in the west and Lombok as well as the rest of Lesser Sunda Islands (Sumbawa, Flores, Sumba and Timor) in the east.

Flying time to Jakarta is about 1.5 hours, to Singapore and Perth (Australia) 2.5 and 3 hours, and to Hong Kong about 4 hours. 20 hrs from New York and 18 hrs from London

Stretching around 145kms (90miles) from east to west and 95kms (60miles) from north to south, the island has a chain of six volcanoes; Mount Agung (3,142m) is the highest point and considered secret by the Balinese; there are tropical forests, pristine lakes, fast flowing rivers and deep ravines, picturesque rice terraces, and fertile vegetable and fruit gardens. The beaches in the South consist of white sand, beaches in other parts of the island are covered with gray or black volcanic sand. Underwater life can be found at Amed, Tulamben, Gilis, or Menjangan island; Kuta, Padang Padang, Impossible are just a few of beaches perfect for surfing.
